Lake Tahoe 2009

Eric and I were able to go on our first vacation since we got married in Vegas in 2007. We went to Lake Tahoe. Eric's uncle Terry had rented a cabin there and was telling us about it at Christmas and asked if we would like to come. Of course I wanted to go. I haven't been skiing in like 12 years and I really enjoyed back in high school. After we purchased our plane tickets and all the much needed clothes we were ready to. It was very bittersweet for me because I had never left Rileigh for that long ever before.
We left on February 26. Our plane was scheduled to leave at 8:15. There were a few problems before we left. We all got boarded and we sat and sat and sat some more. The pilot finally came on the speaker and said we would be pushing back from the gate in about 5 minutes. We pushed back and pulled right back forward. AAAGGGHHHHH....What now? I was so tired because I had been at the hospital all night the night before (see previous post Tessa Avery is born!). The pilot came back on the speaker and said, "Ladies and gentlemen it appears we are having some left engine trouble. We will have maintenance come take a look but we will more than likely be exiting this plane and finding another plane." After what felt like FOREVER. The pilot came back on and said, "Please gather all your things and exit the plane to the waiting area we will then let you know when we find and new plane and at what gate it will be located." Seriousy all I have been thinking about now for the last 2 hours is getting on the plane and taking off so I could get some sleep. By this time it was 9:45 and with only 2 hours of sleep the night before I was getting super cranky and my vision was begining to be blury. About 15 minutes later a lady got on a loud speaker and said they had found us another plane and we needed to walk about 7 gates from where we were and we would be boarding shortly and hopefully be in the air soon. About another 15 minutes go by and we are boarding the plane. I think we finally took off about 10:45. Finally I was able to get a couple hours of sleep. Once we got to California and got to our hotel it was about 4 am Dallas time. We had a really nice hotel room probably one of the nicest that I have ever stayed in and I even slept in my own bed. Since Eric is so tall he needed his own bed so he could sleep diagnoal because there were only 2 full beds. Here are all the amazing pictures I got while we were in Tahoe. This place really make you thank God for the wonderful creations he has provided for us. I do believe this is a small piece of heaven on Earth. If you have been to Tahoe you know exactly what I am talking about and if you have never been before I think you should really think about traveling there. I want to go back during the summer because I bet it is just as beautiful and while we were driving around sightseeing there was campsite after campsite right by the lake. I think it would be AMAZING to camp there. Maybe in a few years when Rileigh is bigger we can take her camping in the summer there.
